Amazone wife shopping habits (Gizmodo)

Yup, these stores track everything about your habits, hopefully not by name, ouch! But every now and then, something goes wrong. After all it’s humans that wrote the software. Here is a perfect example: Gizmodo poster, Mark Wilson, was quite surprised to see his wives Amazon account show tons of lushes tool suggestions. See details here…

Then again fathers day was just around the corner… maybe it’s something he didn’t receive? :D

Makita - Portable Bandsaw

These portable bandsaws seem to be getting popular by the manufacturers these days. I posted a video of the Stout-Xband in use last month. Now Makita is offering their version which uses the standard LXT Lithium-Ion 18V batteries. See it on the Makita site here

Book: The New Complete Guide to the Band Saw

I have to admit that my band saw and I haven’t been on best talking terms. Mostly due to issues on her side that didn’t contribute to a smooth start in our relationship. Then just as she started working out her faults I realized it was my turn to correct my faults, that is letting go of the past. It’s been a long road, but we are working things out now, we both know we have to take it slow. You see she arrived with a loose rubber wheel strap that would jump off and then throw the blade right out of wheel tracks. But her company just wanted to send me parts and not admit there was an issue, and waited and waited while getting more disappointed each day.

So in order to get self help, I was searching for fence guides and add on tools. I came across this really amazing book called The New Complete Guide to the Band Saw and wanted to share with you. You can check out many details of the book before buying but if you own a band saw, I think just looking at a couple of pages might convince you like it did me. Have a look here…

Send me any feedback, I’ll be posting mine in days to come.
