Compound Angle Calcluator
The compound calculator allows you to define the angle of slope on the sides of the frame in order to obtain the bevel and miter of the edges. Define the Angle between 0 - 90 degrees, and the number of sides you would like your frame to have.
Results:
You only need one of the Miter values, if you are using something like a miter saw, they are marked to cut a 90 degree angle when set to 0 degrees, so use the Miter 0 value. If you use a table saw, they usually have a 90 degree setting for cutting 90 degree cuts, so use the Miter 90 value.
The Bevel is the angle of your blade, or tilt of the blade.
If you simply want to make a flat wooden frame, set the angle to 0 degrees, or 90 degree to make a box, so if you want a box with 8 sides, Sides=8 and Angle=90.
Ideas:
- Make a hexagon window frame. Sides=6, Angle=90 degrees
- Plant holder with extended sides on 15 - 20 degree angle to recuperate more rain water into the pot, Sides=4, Angle=15 degrees
- Picture frames
- Plant pot with sloped sides. Sides=4, Angle=60 degrees
