DIY: Adjustable Tapered Jig
I have a flat roof, well that’s what the city calls it, but everyone that owns a house like this knows that flat is not flat at all, it’s tapered in just about every angle possible. My second problem is that I like skylights, lets the light in all over the place and gives an open feeling to just about any space.
So when I add one, it’s often a dance with all kinds of angles to get the roof lined up with ceiling which is also on a slant. It’s quite a process which I’m getting better at but every so often I mess up or scratch my head as to how I’m going to cut something without ending up… on a slant myself.
This really cool adjustable tapered jig project from the editors of Woodsmith and ShopNotes just landed in my mailbox, and just wanted to share. I mean the fast way to all of this is to buy a jig but building one yourself can sometimes lead to new insights and even modify to adapt to other types of cuts.
